I have know Mr. Bowen-Rowlands intimately for 11

years. For the last 5 or 6 years at least I know that Mr. Bowen- -Rowlands has been rigidly abatemious, with the exception of periodical lapses. I have frequently been to his house to dinner

and tea, and he has been to my house. I have never know him take

any alcoholic liquor at all on these occasions, even when others

were drinking.

Inhave formed the impression that he is quite unable te resist the attacks, and that he is fighting against the tempta-

-tion.

together on several occasions ?

A. Yes.

4. Did you ever on any of these occasions see me taking

alcohol ?

▲. I have never sem Mr. Bowen-Rowlands taking alcohol. Other

people were taking it on these occasions.
